Police Investigate Fatal Collision in Derwood (PHOTO)

UPDATED June 29 at 5 p.m.: Montgomery County police released the names of the individuals involved in the June 27 fatal collision at Shady Grove Road and Epsilon Drive. Police identified the driver of the tan Toyota Camry as Gerilynne Seigneur of the 16300 block of Grande Vista Drive in Rockville. The driver of the Toyota mini-van was identified as Ulices Chavez of the 11600 block of Queen Nicole Terrace in Germantown. According to the police, Chavez was not injured and was arrested at the scene for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs.

UPDATED Montgomery County police officers are investigating a fatal collision that occurred at Shady Grove Road and Epsilon Drive in the Derwood area around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

Police said the preliminary investigation indicates that a green Toyota mini-van was traveling north on Shady Grove Road when for reasons under investigation it collided with a tan Toyota Camry that was traveling west from Tupelo Drive, crossing Shady Grove Road where Tupelo Drive becomes Epsilon Drive.

Despite life-saving measures attempted by Fire and Rescue personnel, police said the driver of the Toyota Camry died from her injuries.
