Police Conducting Homicide Investigation After Wheaton Shooting

Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) detectives are conducting a homicide investigation after a shooting in Wheaton on Tuesday, according to a police statement

At about 7:07 a.m. on Tuesday, officers were sent to the 2300 block of Glenmont Circle and found 29-year-old Francisco Anton Medrano Campos with gunshot wounds. He died on the scene. Campos was from the 2300 block, and police said his body has been transported for examination. 

Witnesses saw two men leaving the area after the shooting occurred, police said. 4th District officers and Maryland National Capital Park Police searched the area but didn’t find any suspects. 

MCPD asks anyone with relevant information to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070. Anonymous callers are accepted and can also reach the Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at 1-866-411-8477 or online. Crime Solvers may pay $10,000 maximum for information that leads to an arrest.
