Police Charge Catherine Hoggle with Child Neglect, Search for Toddlers to Continue Sunday in Darnestown

UPDATED, Sept. 13, 11:20 p.m. Montgomery County police say they will resume searching for Sarah and Jacob Hoggle tomorrow (Sept. 14) in eight different areas of Darnestown. Tonight, police released more information about the children’s mother who was brought into custody on Friday night. According to police, Catherine Hoggle was wearing the same clothes but had cut her hair and was carrying a missing persons flyer with her and the kids photos on it when officers took her into custody. When officers located Hoggle, police said she tried to flee. Police said Hoggle would not tell detectives where her children are located. At 5 p.m. today, Hoggle was transported to the Central Processing Unit. She is charged with two counts of child neglect, obstruction and hindering. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call 9-1-1.

UPDATED, Sept. 13, 2 p.m. Montgomery County police have issued a news release noting that when they took Catherine Hoggle into custody last night she had altered her appearance and changed her hair. Police said Hoggle has told detectives the “kids are safe.” Police can not verify the statement and still do not know the toddlers’ whereabouts.

UPDATED, Sept. 13, 1:15 p.m. – Montgomery County Police say they are resuming the search for the two missing toddlers. The search teams will focus on areas that police believe Catherine Hoggle has visited recently.

UPDATED, Sept. 13, 8:30 a.m.- Police say they still do not know where Catherine Hoggle’s two children are located as detectives continue to interview her.

Montgomery County police located missing Clarksburg mom Catherine Hoggle last night in Germantown.

Police have brought Hoggle in to headquarters for questioning. There has been no information released about the location of Hoggle’s missing children, Sarah (3) and Jacob (2).

According to the Police Department’s Twitter feed, Hoggle was located at Crystal Rock Drive and Century Boulevard around 11:18 p.m. on Sept. 12.

Police said that a citizen called to report Hoggle was walking in the area.

According to police, the two children were not with her. Authorities have been looking for all three for days.

Anyone with information about the children, is asked to call 9-1-1.
