Police Charge California Man with Trafficking Marijuana
Montgomery County police officers have charged 53-year-old Steven Tosi of California with criminal charges related to possession and trafficking approximately 250 pounds of marijuana.
Police said the arrest resulted from a traffic stop for speeding on southbound Interstate 270 just north of the Clarksburg Road exit on Dec. 5th. According to a police account, when the officer approached the van he could smell fresh marijuana coming from the vehicle. Police said the driver, Tosi, stated he was smoking marijuana inside the vehicle. According to a police account, officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and located approximately 250 pounds of marijuana. Police said the marijuana was vacuum sealed in various bundles.
Tosi is being held without bond at the jail, according to police. His next court date, a preliminary hearing, is scheduled for Dec. 23, according to court records.
