A man that Montgomery County police had previously wanted for two bank robberies inside a grocery store is now wanted for a third, according to a police statement released Monday.

That’s right, police believe the same man has robbed the same grocery store bank branch — three times.

The Safeway grocery store, at 14939 Shady Grove Road in Rockville, was first robbed about 4:05 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27. A man approached a teller and passed a note demanding cash. Police said he fled with an undisclosed amount.

Then about 3:52 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, police believe the same man approached a teller and again passed a note demanding cash. The man fled with the cash.

Then on Sunday, March 3, about 4:55 p.m., police believe the same man gave a note to a teller demanding cash. The man fled with the cash.

Anyone with information about the man or the bank robberies is asked to call the police Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100.

To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
