Police are Investigating Fatal Collision that Occurred in Chevy Chase

police carMontgomery County police officers are investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Dec. 9 in Chevy Chase.

It happened at Wisconsin Avenue and Somerset Terrace around 2:30 p.m. The police department’s preliminary investigation indicates that a 2002 Toyota Camry and a 2017 Toyota RAV4 were both traveling southbound on Wisconsin Avenue at Somerset Terrace, when the Camry rear-ended the RAV4.

The driver of the Camry, identified by police as 90-year-old Amy Chaung Lee of Bethesda was driven home by a relative after the collision. Police said on that same day, Lee began to exhibit signs of a head injury and was taken to a local hospital. Police said that Lee died from her injuries at the hospital on December 14. The driver of the RAV4 was not injured in the collision, police said.
