Pizza and Bagels Don’t Go With Treadmills and Crunches

The gym might be a “judgment free zone” but the county health department has judged its free pizzas and bagels out of bounds.

Planet Fitness has been told that it can no longer offer its monthly free pizza nights or free bagel mornings because it’s a state health code violation.

Health department spokesperson Mary Anderson said the gyms lack a separate hand washing sink to serve the carb-filled goodies. Therefore, Planet Fitness will have to stop.

The health department, Anderson said, separates a business that provides food to the public to a business that would provide donuts during a staff meeting.
