Man Struck, Killed by a Train in Germantown (UPDATED)
UPDATED, Jan. 6, 4 p.m. – Police have identified the man struck and killed by a train on the tracks in the area of the Germantown MARC station Jan. 2.
The victim is identified by police as William Alexander Buendia Rodriguez, 20, of the 18900 block of Pine Ridge Lane in Germantown. No foul play is suspected, police said.
According to a police account, at approximately 1:37 a.m. on Jan. 2, officers from the 5th District responded to the report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a train on the tracks located in the area of the Germantown MARC station at 19330 Mateny Hill Road in Germantown. For reasons still under investigation, Rodriguez had been in the area of the tracks when he was struck by a train.
Rodriguez died on the scene, police said.

Montgomery County Police are investigating the death of a pedestrian who was struck by a train in Germantown at approximately 1:37 a.m. on Jan. 2.
It happened in the area of the Germantown MARC station located at 19330 Mateny Hill Road.
Police said the initial investigation indicates that for unknown reasons, the male victim had been in the area of the tracks when he was struck by a train.
The victim died from his injuries at the scene, police said.
Detectives are currently working to establish the victim’s identity.
