Performers Needed for Gaithersburg’s Virtual Open Mic Nights

Gaithersburg’s Arts on the Green invites performers of all ages and talents to audition for their virtual Open Mic Night, livestreamed on Jan. 22 and 23, 2021.

Performers must submit an online video audition by Dec. 18 at 5 p.m. All audition instructions are detailed on their website.

Arts on the Green seeks acts that showcase the performing arts, including dance, music, opera, theatre and musical theatre, stand-up comedy, magic, illusion, mime, spoken word, puppetry, circus arts, and performance art. This opportunity is open to everyone, and applicants do not need to live in the City of Gaithersburg, the press release reads.

An adjudication panel will review audition entries and all those who enter will receive a notification as on their acceptance status no later than Jan. 1, 2021.

Successful artists will be allowed a performance slot of 10 minutes or less. There will be one joint rehearsal and the Open Mic event will be recorded live.

The programs will be split by age. The first will be broadcasted on Friday, Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. for performers ages 15 and older. Saturday, Jan. 23 at 10 a.m., performers ages 14 and under will be broadcasted. Both are free to view by the public and artists receive no fee for their performance.

The link to register for free tickets will be available after Jan. 1, 2021.
