Updated: A pedestrian was stuck and killed by a train early Tuesday in Gaithersburg, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services spokesperson, Pete Piringer.
Tony Carrillo said he was watching trains go by with a friend right before he heard what he believed to be the emergency brake and the train’s horn.
“I freaked out and thought ‘oh my gosh’ this can’t be good,” he said.
According to Carrillo, he heard what he believed to be the engineer yell “emergency.” Carillo said he followed behind his friend and as they approached the stopped train, a man was lying on the tracks.
“This really hits home,” Carrillo said. “This is why you shouldn’t walk across the tracks when the gates are down and lights are on.”

people like that are why pedestrians should be punished like someone who drives a car for causing an accident. I hope his family is held liable for some that had to rebook plane tickets
