Parking Restrictions Coming to Bethesda, Chevy Chase and Silver Spring Next Week (VIDEO)
The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (DOT) is planning to restrict parking in Bethesda, Friendship Heights, Chevy Chase and Silver Spring during the first week of August because of Safe Track repairs on the Metro’s Red Line.
The changes are being made to accommodate more commuters on the roadways.
According to the DOT website, no parking will be allowed between the hours of 5 a.m. and 8 p.m. each day, from Aug. 1 -5, at parking meters on the following roadways:
- On Wisconsin Avenue (MD355) from Battery Lane to Bradley Boulevard/Lane in Bethesda.
- On Wisconsin Avenue (MD 355) from Willard Avenue to Somerset Terrace in Chevy Chase and Friendship Heights.
- On Georgia Avenue (MD 97) from Spring Street to the District Line and on Colesville Road (MD 29) from Spring Street to the Transit Center in Silver Spring.
Signs will be posted in the restricted areas and meter heads will be bagged. Towing will be in effect. If towed, call 301.279.8000.
