Olney Woman Charged with Assault; Four D.C. Youths Nabbed for Strong-Arm Robbery

A 30-year-old Olney woman was arrested for an aggravated assault that occurred about 6:30 p.m. March 2 in the 12500 block of Georgia Avenue. The woman displayed a weapon and assaulted the adult female victim.

Police arrested four youths for a strong-arm robbery that occurred about 1:18 p.m. March 6 in the 11000 block of Veirs Mill Road. Police said the youths assaulted the adult male victim and took his property. Those arrested, all males, ranged in age from 12 to 16; all were from Washington, D.C., police said.

Rockville:

Between about 8:35 a.m. and about 5:40 p.m. March 3 someone forced their way into a home in the 12900 block of Missionwood Way and took property.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between March 4 and March 5. Affected streets included the 2500 block of Stratton Drive and the 8500-8600 blocks of Atwell Road. No forced entry, one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 20000 block of Westerly Avenue about 6 a.m. March 3.

Bethesda:

Thefts from vehicles occurred between Feb. 27 and March 6. Affected streets included East

Parkhill Drive, Blueford Road, Traymore Street, Meredith Avenue, Avamere Street, Grant Avenue, the 4900 block of Auburn Avenue and the 4800 and 4900 blocks of Battery Lane. Force was reported in three, seven vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken. A 23-year-old Rockville man was arrested for the Grant Avenue theft.

Two commercial burglaries were reported in the early morning hours of March 7 at the Five Guys restaurant at 10510 Connecticut Ave. and about 9:52 p.m. March 7 at the Antique Market II at 3750 Howard Avenue. Forced entry was reported in both. At the restaurant, cash was taken. At the market, property was taken.

A commercial burglary was reported in the early morning hours of March 2 at the Glen Echo Pharmacy at 7311 MacArthur Blvd. Forced entry; medications were taken.

A commercial burglary occurred between about 10:45 p.m. March 5 and about 9:30 a.m. March 6 at the Verizon store at 9935 Falls Road. Forced entry; property was taken.

Silver Spring:

An aggravated assault occurred about 5:28 p.m. March 6 at the Rue 21 clothing retailer at 8661 Colesville Road. Two employees were assaulted. Three males are sought; one displayed a weapon.

An attempted residential burglary occurred about 3:46 p.m. March 2 in the 9600 block of Hastings Drive. A male is sought.

Affected streets included Lockwood Drive, Symphony Woods Drive, Finale Terrace, Crescendo Way, Encore Drive, Mount Pisgah Road, Columbia Pike, Plum Orchard Drive, Treetop View Terrace, Fairland Road, New Hampshire Avenue, Old Columbia Pike, Aston Manor Court, Mcknew Road, Greencastle Road, Water Drop Court, Turbridge Drive and Valiant Way.

Force was reported in five, six vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash, property and vehicle parts were taken.

A residential burglary occurred between about 3 p.m. and about 4:30 p.m. March 1 in the 2900 block of Red Lion Lane. Forced entry; property was taken.

Wheaton:

A residential garage burglary and two thefts from vehicles occurred at the same residence in the 1000 block of Orchard Way between about 12 p.m. March 4 and about 9:30 a.m. March 5. No signs of forced entry, the garage door and both vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked; cash was taken.

Two other thefts from vehicles occurred at different residences in the 1000 block of Orchard Way between about 12 p.m. March 4 and about 9:30 a.m. March 5. No force, both vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked; change was taken.

Two males are sought for the armed robbery of a food delivery person that occurred about 10:45 p.m. March 1 in the 2200 block of Wimbledon Circle. One male displayed a weapon. The robbers took cash.

A residential shed burglary occurred between about 3 p.m. Feb. 25 and about 8:40 a.m. March 1 in the 12300 block of Selfridge Road. The shed was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

Police are looking for two males who tried to burgle a home about 5:45 a.m. March 5 in the 12900 block of Goodhill Road.

Police are looking for a male who committed a strong-arm robbery about 10:47 p.m. March 6 in the 11700 block of Kingtree Street. The man displayed a weapon, assaulted the adult female victim and took her property.

An armed robbery occurred about 3:45 p.m. March 6 in the 11200 block of Georgia Avenue. The male robber displayed a weapon and took the adult male victim’s cash and property.

Germantown:

An attempted armed robbery occurred in the early morning hours of March 3 in the 21000 block of Henderson Corner Road. The robber displayed a weapon.

A theft from vehicle occurred in the early morning hours of Feb. 28 in the 18700 block of Harmony Woods Lane. Force; nothing was taken.

A barn was burgled between about 10 p.m. March 1 and about 8:07 a.m. March 2 in the 21500 block of Peach Tree Road. The barn was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

Montgomery Village:

An attempted strong-arm robbery occurred in the early morning hours of March 1 in the 200 block of Whitcliff Court.

A residential burglary occurred between about 8:20 a.m. and about 4:15 p.m. March 7 in the 9900 block of Shelburne Terrace. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.

Police said two teenagers robbed five other teenagers about 1 p.m. March 1 in the area of Wheelwright Drive and Buhrstone Drive. One of the robbers displayed a weapon. The two teenagers took property from the five victims.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred March 1 and March 2. Affected streets included Duffer Way, Greenside Terrace, Wedge Way, Snouffer School Road, Hedge Apple Way, Hallmark Court and Cherry Laurel Lane. Force was reported in two, one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash, property and vehicle parts were taken.

A school burglary occurred between about 5:30 p.m. and about 10:30 p.m. March 3 at Stedwick Elementary School at 10631 Stedwick Road. Forced entry; property was taken.

A residential burglary occurred between about 8 a.m. and about 3 p.m. March 7 in the 7800 block of Heritage Farm Drive. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.

An attempted commercial burglary occurred in the early morning hours of March 4 at the Flower Hill Beer and Wine at 18253 Flower Hill Way.

A commercial burglary occurred in the early morning hours of March 4 at the European Market at 17605 Redland Road. Forced entry; nothing was taken.
