This year’s headliner, Branford Marsalis has worked with musical greats such as Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Herbie Hancock, and Sonny Rollins, as well as Sting, the Grateful Dead and Bruce Hornsby and of course, his own brother, Wynton Marsalis. Located in the heart of Silver Spring, as Jazz Festival patrons you will have your choice of food vendors or bring a picnic. Be sure to bring your beach chairs. Come to Veterans Plaza at the Silver Spring Civic Building, corner of Ellsworth Drive and Fenton Street. Parking is limited at the downtown garages including Wayne Avenue garage, the Town Square garage, and the garages on Bonifant Street, Cameron at Ramsey Avenue, and Cameron at Fenton, so consider taking Metro (Red Line to Silver Spring).

Therapeutic Recreation Needs Assessment
The Therapeutic Recreation team is asking for resident input in completing a Therapeutic Recreation Programs and Services Needs Assessment. The survey, which takes about five minutes to complete, is an on-line anonymous survey that asks for information on how the Montgomery County Recreation can best serve individuals with disabilities. Feedback will ensure that quality programs and services are provided. www.montgomerycountymd.gov/rec
