Nats Fan Extraordinaire Brotman Enjoys Team’s Magical Ride

Charlie Brotman is a local legend. For decades he ran his own PR company working with almost every team, prominent athlete and celebrity to come through DC. He was the official announcer for every presidential parade from Eisenhower through Obama. And he was the Washington Senators’ stadium announcer going back to the 1950’s when the team was a perennial loser and the announcer at the Citi Open tennis tournament for decades.

Brotman, 91, is a Montgomery County resident who watches almost every game of his beloved Nats. He attended the home World Series games this weekend and will be glued – like thousands of others – to his TV this evening for Game 7.

When Washington, DC was awarded a baseball franchise in 2004 after more than three decades without a team, Brotman’s life changed for the better and forever.

MCM spent some time with Brotman this afternoon with his team on the brink of its first World Series title since 1924.
