National Weather Service Issues Heat Advisory for Monday
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the region from noon until 8 p.m. Monday, due to heat index values up to 105 degrees.
A heat advisory means that a period of high temperatures is expected. According to the National Weather Service, the combination of high temperatures and high humidity can create situations that lead to heat-related illnesses.
Safety officials are urging residents to take precautions when spending time outside, including wearing light weight and loose fitting clothing, and drinking plenty of water.
