More than 60 Animals Removed from Dickerson Home

The Montgomery County Police-Animal Services Division removed more than 60 animals from a home on Beallsville Road in Dickerson on Tuesday.

59 dogs, three cats, and two turtles are being treated for various medical issues and will be under the care and custody of the Animal Services Division for an undetermined period of time according to officials.

The investigation began after a dog that had been living at the Beallsville residence was humanely euthanized due to its poor condition. That led Animal Services Officers to perform an inspection and welfare check on the other animals at the home.

A search and seizure warrant was issued and all the animals were removed from the residence due to poor conditions observed on the property.

A microchip was discovered in one of the seized dogs, who had been reported lost two years ago. Officials say that dog has since been reunited with its original owner.

This matter is currently under investigation by the ASD.
