Montgomery Village Bank Robbed

Sought in bank robbery | MCPD

The Sandy Spring Bank in Montgomery Village was robbed Monday, according to a police statement.

Police said the man entered the bank about 2 p.m., approached a teller, and passed a note that demanded money. The note implied that the man had a weapon, police said. He received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled from the bank, police said. The bank is at 9921 Stedwick Road.

Detectives have released photos of the robber and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

Anyone with information about the suspect or this bank robbery is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division at 240.773.5070. To be eligible for a reward, tipsters may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1.866.411.TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to the arrest and/or indictment of this suspect. Tipsters will remain anonymous.
