Montgomery County’s Covid-19 Test Positivity Rate Remains Below 3%

Montgomery County COVID-19 Statistics

Wednesday morning the Maryland Department of Health reported 492 new statewide coronavirus cases since Tuesday, 104 of which are in COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County.

This brings the state’s cumulative case count to 137,236 since the start of the pandemic. Montgomery County’s cumulative case count is now 24,664.

COVID-19 has claimed the lives of 3,912 Marylanders, including 822 Montgomery County residents. In addition, there are 40 probable Montgomery County coronavirus deaths since the start of the pandemic. Since Tuesday, the state health department confirmed eight new statewide deaths, one of which is in Montgomery County.

Looking Closer at the State, County Numbers

Maryland’s statewide test positivity rate is 3.11%. The three-day rolling average for test positivity in Montgomery County, according to the county health department, is 2.6%.

There are currently 463 Marylanders hospitalized from coronavirus, 131 of whom are in intensive care.

A total of 42,702 cases and 1,593 deaths involve the state’s African American population.
