Montgomery County Recreation Hosts In-Person Seniors on the Go Day Camp in Germantown

Montgomery County Recreation will host its Seniors-on-the-Go Day Camp in person from July 26-30 in Germantown.

The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Germantown Community Recreation Center and will include activities, short trips and themed days.

The event is open to Montgomery County residents ages 55 and older and aims to connect seniors with one another while offering activities.

The themes for each day of the camp are listed below.

  • Monday – Government Day
  • Tuesday – Sports Day
  • Wednesday – Arts Day
  • Thursday – Nature Day
  • Friday – Music Day

Montgomery County’s Recreation Department was given a $250,000 budget increase by the county in May to expand senior programs with events like these. According to the department’s manager of the Senior Team Sara Swarr, this increase will help to recover in person activities that were lost due to the pandemic.

Seniors can sign up for the camp through Active Montgomery.
