Montgomery County Police Crime Summary for June 26 through July 4

Incidents and arrests contained in the latest Montgomery County police crime summary:

Rockville:

A commercial burglary occurred at the Castle Mini Storage at 12040 Parklawn Drive between about 6 p.m. on June 28 and about 7 a.m. on June 29. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

Four thefts from vehicles occurred between about 8 p.m. June 26 and about 9:15 a.m. June 27. Affected streets included Broad Green Drive, Grayhorse Court, Bedfordshire Avenue and Lost Trail Way. No force, one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.

Bethesda:

A residential burglary occurred in the 3500 block of Chevy Chase Lake Drive between about 12:01 a.m. June 26 and about 12 p.m. June 28. No signs of forced entry, property was taken.

A residential garage burglary and two thefts from vehicles occurred at the same home in the 2700 block of Abilene Drive between about 11:30 p.m. June 27 and about 8:15 a.m. June 28. No signs of forced entry, the garage door was reported to have been left open and vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between June 26 and July 2. Affected streets included Pickwick and Cummings lanes; Woodbine and Leland streets; Blaine, Farrell, Parkwood, Hazelwood, Quintana, Charred Oak, Bryant and Donnybrook drives; Decatur Avenue; Brookville, Durbin, Glenwood, Carteret, Custer, Charlcote and Robinwood roads; and Stella Court. Force was reported in two events, multiple vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.

Thefts from vehicles also occurred:

  • In the 7800 block of Glenbrook Road between about 9 p.m. June 27 and about 6 a.m. June 28. No force, the vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.
  • In the 4400 block of Rosedale Avenue between about 12:15 a.m. on July 2 and about 6 a.m. July 3. No force, unknown means of entry; cash was taken.

Four vehicle thefts occurred in the following areas:

  • In the 3300 block of Brooklawn Terrace between about 12 p.m. and about 7 a.m. June 30. The vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked with a spare key left inside the vehicle.
  • A theft from vehicle and vehicle theft occurred at the same home in the 3500 block of Bradley Lane in the early morning hours of July 1. No force; suspect(s) used spare key left in the first vehicle to steal the second vehicle. The stolen vehicle was recovered on July 6.
  • In the 3400 block of Leland Street between about 9 p.m. July 2 and about 8:30 a.m. July 3. The vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked with a spare key left inside the vehicle. The vehicle was recovered on July 6.
  • In the 7500 block of Vale Street between about 12 a.m. and about 10 a.m. July 3. Unknown entry.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 6100 block of Valerian Lane in the early morning hours of July 1.

Silver Spring:

A residential burglary occurred in the 1100 block of Fidler Lane between about 6:38 p.m. July 3 and about 1:52 a.m. July 4. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

Two strong-arm robberies occurred in the following areas:

  • In the 100 block of University Boulevard West about 7:30 p.m. June 28. Two men, about age 20, assaulted the adult male victim and took his property.
  • In the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Oakview Drive about 4:20 p.m. July 1. Two men, about age 20, assaulted the adult male victim and took his property.

A vehicle theft occurred in the 11900 block of Old Columbia Pike between about 11 a.m. and about 11:30 p.m. on July 2. Unknown entry.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred during this reporting period. Affected streets included Tech and Cherry Hill roads; Plum Orchard and Lockwood drives; and Old Columbia Pike. Force was reported in three events, one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash, property, and vehicle parts were taken.

Wheaton:

A residential burglary occurred at a home under construction in the 13600 block of Soaring Wing Lane about 12:30 p.m. June 26. No signs of forced entry; property was taken. Police seek two men, about age 30.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between June 29 and July 3. Affected streets included MacDuff Avenue, Stafford Road, Flintstone Lane, Balboa Court, Cobblestone and Prince David drives, and Twig Place. No force, two vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.

Two residential burglaries occurred in the following areas:

  • In the 14200 block of Wolf Creek Place between about 9:05 a.m. and about 8:20 p.m. June 28. No signs of forced entry; a window was reported to have been left open; property was taken.
  • In the 2600 block of Belle Crest Lane between about 3 p.m.  June 28 and about 3:45 p.m. June 29. Forced entry; property was taken.

A theft from vehicle occurred in the 2300 block of Glenmont Circle in the early morning hours of June 27. No force; vehicle parts were taken.

A commercial burglary occurred at the JCPenney inside Westfield Wheaton mall at 11160 Veirs Mill Road at about 11:36 p.m. on July 1. No signs of forced entry; nothing was taken. Police arrested a 13-year-old boy from Silver Spring.

Germantown:

A strong-arm robbery occurred in the area of Frederick Road and Appledowre Way about 4:29 p.m. July 1. One person assaulted the adult male victim and took his property. Police arrested a 17-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl, both from Germantown.

Police seek seven males, ages unknown, for an armed robbery that occurred in the 11600 block of Drumcastle Terrace between about 11 p.m. July 1 and about 1 a.m. July 2. The group assaulted an adult male and a juvenile male, and took their property. One of the group displayed a weapon.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between June 26 and July 3. Affected streets included Crystal Hill, Swiss and Brittania circles, Noble Oak Drive, Century Boulevard, Esmond Terrace, and Porterfield Way. No force, one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into any of the vehicles; cash and property were taken.

Four to six males, ages 15 to 17 are sought for a strong-arm robbery that occurred in the 18600 block of Poplar Glen Court about 10:30 p.m. July 4. The suspects assaulted the adult male victim and the juvenile male victim and took the juvenile’s property.

Montgomery Village:

An aggravated assault occurred in the in the 9600 block of Lost Knife Circle in the early morning hours of July 1. One man assaulted the adult female victim and then two other men assaulted the first man. All three men were arrested: a 35-year-old from Gaithersburg, a 25-year-old from Germantown and a 43-year-old from Washington Grove.
