Montgomery County Police Crime Summary

Thefts from Vehicles Summary:

Bethesda District:

A 38-year-old Washington man was charged with multiple attempted thefts from vehicles and thefts from vehicles in the area of Wisconsin and Rosedale avenues in the early morning hours of March 29. No force; property was taken. A suspect was arrested.

Four thefts from vehicles occurred between March 31 and April 2. Two thefts occurred in the 7800-8000 blocks of Custer Road and two thefts occurred in the 8500 block of Rosewood Drive. No force; cash and property were taken.

Four thefts from vehicles occurred between March 31 and April 2. Affected streets included Democracy Boulevard, Muirfield Drive and Muirfield Court. Force was reported in one event; property was taken.

An attempted theft from vehicle occurred in the 8100 block of Inverness Ridge Road between about 8 p.m. on April 1 and about 4 p.m. on April 2.

Silver Spring District:

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between March 30 and April 2. Affected streets included Aston Manor Drive, Water Drop and Cross River courts, Sheffield Manor and Leatherwood terraces, and Blackburn Road. Force was reported in one event; cash and property were taken.

Rockville District:

Police seek three women, ages unknown, for an aggravated assault in the 200 block of Rockville Pike in the early morning hours of March 30. The women assaulted a man.

Bethesda District:

A commercial burglary occurred at the Einstein Bros. Bagel at 8542 Connecticut Ave. about 10:40 p.m. April 2. No signs of forced entry; cash was taken.

A residential garage burglary occurred in the 6800 block of Granby Street between about 8:30 p.m. April 2 and about 6:30 a.m. April 3. No signs of forced entry, the garage door was reported to have been left open; property was taken.

A vehicle theft occurred in the 7100 block of Democracy Boulevard between about 7 p.m. and about 8:30 p.m. March 31. Unknown entry.

A residential burglary occurred in the 9400 block of Turnberry Drive between about 4 p.m. and about 6:30 p.m. March 29. Forced entry; property was taken.

A vehicle theft occurred in the 10000 block of Carmelita Drive between about 8 p.m. April 1 and about 8 a.m. April 2. No force; the vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked with a set of keys left inside.

Silver Spring District:

Strong-arm robberies occurred in the following areas:

  • In the 1100 block of East West Highway in the early morning hours of March 27. Three men assaulted another man and took his cash and property. One of the assailants was about age 20. The others had unknown ages.
  • In the 8000 block of Newell Street about 6:48 p.m. March 28. Three men, about age 20, assaulted another man and took his cash and property.

A residential burglary occurred in the 8600 block of Cedar Street between about 4:15 a.m. and about 7:30 a.m. April 2. No signs of forced entry, a window was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

Police seek a man, age unknown, for an aggravated assault at the Bestway Supermarket at 8540 Piney Branch Road about 12:38 p.m. April 3. The suspect displayed a weapon and assaulted the adult male owner.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 11200 block of Oakleaf Drive at about 8:28 p.m. April 1.

Police seek three men, ages unknown, for a strong-arm robbery in the 3300 block of Parkford Manor Drive about 3:23 p.m. April 1. The men assaulted a boy and took his cash.

Wheaton District:

Police seek a man for an armed robbery in the 4000 block of Postgate Terrace about 10:40 p.m. March 27. The man displayed a weapon and took another man’s cash and property.

A residential burglary occurred in the 2000 block of Hermitage Avenue between about 11:30 a.m. and about 5:30 p.m. March 27. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

Strong-arm robberies occurred in the following areas:

  • In the 11300 block of Georgia Avenue about 10 p.m. March 29. Four or five men, ages unknown, assaulted another man and took his cash.
  • In the 2600 block of University Boulevard West in the early morning hours of April 2. Two men and a woman, ages unknown, were involved. One man assaulted another man and took his cash and property.

An aggravated assault occurred in the 2600 block of Kensington Boulevard in the early morning hours of April 1. A man, age unknown, assaulted another man.

Germantown District:

A residential burglary occurred in the 19500 block of Crystal Rock Drive between about 10 a.m. and about 3:30 p.m. April 1. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

Montgomery Village District:

A 24-year-old man with an unconfirmed address and a 23-year-old Gaithersburg woman were arrested for a residential burglary in the 9800 block of Washingtonian Boulevard at about 2:55 p.m. March 28. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken. The suspects were arrested.

An aggravated assault occurred in the 16600 block of Shady Grove Road at about 5:23 p.m. March 30. The suspects assaulted a man.

Police seek eight or nine males for an aggravated assault in the 18200 block of Lost Knife Circle about 7:49 p.m. April 1. One suspect displayed a weapon. The suspects assaulted a man.

Police seek two men for an attempted residential shed burglary in the 8000 block of Sugarberry Court about 5:30 p.m. March 29.
