Montgomery County Minimum Wage Will Increase on July 1
The minimum wage in Montgomery County will increase on Wednesday, July 1. A bill signed into legislation on November 17, 2017, raises the minimum wage each July 1 until it reaches $15 per hour in 2022.
The amount the minimum wage is raised is determined by the number of workers employed at a business. For employers with 51 or more employees, the minimum wage will be raised to $14, and for employers with 50 or fewer, it will be raised to $13.25. For employers with 10 or fewer employees, the minimum wage will be $13 an hour.

CPI-W = Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers
Employees age 18 and under who work under 20 hours per week are exempt from this rate. These individuals must earn at least 85 percent of the state minimum wage rate.
Employers who provide “home health services” or “home or community-based services” and receive at least 75 percent of gross revenues through state and federal Medicaid programs may apply for designation as an eligible services provider subject to an adjusted implementation schedule, according to a press release.
