Montgomery County Implements Curbside Pickup

In an effort to support restaurants that depend on carryout orders, Montgomery County will implement curbside pickup.

Montgomery County’s Department of Transportation (MCDOT) announced that it has established “No Parking” zones during the COVID-19 emergency in areas with many restaurants. The established zones will prevent parking in front of the restaurants while allowing temporary “standing parking” of 15 minutes or less for curbside pickup and deliveries of carryout orders.

“No Parking zones will improve residents’ curbside access to businesses providing pick up and takeout food services while dine-in restaurant service is suspended under the Statewide order issued by the Governor Hogan to help prevent spread of the virus,” said MCDOT. “The No Parking zones also will benefit businesses that will be offering increased delivery services so their drivers can park quickly near the establishments.”

So far, MCDOT has established 24 temporary “Curbside Food Pickup” zones in Bethesda and Silver Spring downtown areas as well as the Pike and Rose area in North Bethesda.
