Montgomery County Holiday Schedule for Independence Day

Montgomery County government has posted the following holiday schedule for Wednesday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day:

  • County Offices – closed.
  • Libraries – closed.
  • County Liquor stores – all stores will be open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Recreation – aquatics facilities open until 6 p.m., except the Germantown Indoor swim Center, which closes at 3 p.m. All other classes and programs canceled. Administrative office, senior centers and community centers closed.
  • Montgomery Parks – Click here for operating schedule, including Brookside Gardens, ice rinks, and tennis centers.
  • Ride On – will run a Saturday Schedule.
  • Metrorail – Information available at www.wmata.com.
  • Metrobus – Information available at www.wmata.com.
  • TRiPS Commuter Store at Silver Spring Transit Center – open.
  • TRiPS Mobile Commuter Store – closed.
  • County Refuse/recycling pickup – no collection. Collection will slide by one day, which means all collections starting Wednesday will be made one day later in the week, the last collection day is Saturday.
  • Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station – closed.
  • Parking at public garages, lots, curbside meters – free.
  • State offices and courts – closed.

The City of Gaithersburg government will observe the following holiday schedule for Independence Day:

  • City offices and most facilities – closed.
  • The Gaithersburg Police Department Administrative Offices – normal business hours.
  • Administrative Offices of the Gaithersburg Police Station are closed. Police patrol will remain on duty. For emergencies please call 911. For non-emergencies, please dial 301-279-8000 for dispatch.
  • The Water Park – open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for Residents/Members Only.
  • The Miniature Golf Course – open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • The Skate Park – open from 3 p.m. to sunset.
  • The collection of recycled materials for residents whose regular recycling day is Wednesday, will take place on the following Saturday, July 7.

The City of Rockville government will observe the following holiday schedule for Independence Day:

  • City Hall and all city facilities will be closed Wednesday, July 4 for Independence Day.
  • Lincoln Park, Thomas Farm and Twinbrook community centers – closed.
  • The Rockville Senior Center – closed.
  • Croydon Creek Nature Center – closed.
  • Glenview Mansion – closed.
  • F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre and its box office – closed.
  • The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center – close at 6 p.m.
  • Parking at city-owned meters – free
  • Recycling and refuse will be collected one day later starting Wednesday.
