Mikulski Wants a Better Deal on Pell Grant Programs (VIDEO)
Sen. Barbara Mikulski visited Montgomery College Takoma Park Silver Spring campus on Aug.11. She visited the college’s Nursing Simulation Lab and discussed college affordability with students, professors, and staff.
She also announced a $1 million grant to Montgomery College to provide support services to first-year students.
In this MyMCMedia Extra, Mikulski said a community college is a gateway to middle-class and added the basic help for college students is to make sure tuition is affordable.
“The important program for that is the Pell Grant program. …I’m going back to Congress to make sure I get a better budget deal so that our students get a better Pell grant deal,” she said.
