Mikulski Releases Statement on 14th Anniversary of Sept. 11th
U.S. Senator Barbara A. Mikulski has released the following statement to mark the 14th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks:
“Fourteen years ago on September 11, 2001, the world watched a terrible tragedy unfold. Nearly 3,000 people were killed that day at the World Trade Center, at the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania. They were victims of an unthinkable attack.
“To the families of those who died on that horrific day, I would like to again pay my respects and extend my heartfelt sympathy. They will always bear the burden of that day in their hearts, but they are not alone in their grief.
“Today we honor the lasting memories of those who perished in the attack, as well as the courage and sacrifice of those who risked their lives to save others. Our nation will never forget what happened that day. We will never forget the men and women who were suddenly and sadly taken away from us. And in their memory, we will always be united.”
