  • Check out “Grown Down Playground Art” for an interactive exhibit by artist Jenny Wu at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown.
  • Sandy Spring Museum’s art exhibit “Two for One: Photographic Combinations using the Museum Collection” is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • This week is a great time to dine out during Silver Spring’s Restaurant Week.
  • Damascus Community Fair, in its 70th year features fun for the whole family with live music, games, hay rides, veggie races and more from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Free admission.
  • Interested in where county’s Early Voting Centers will be located for the next election? The Board of Elections is holding a public hearing on the topic today at the Executive Office Building in Rockville from 10 a.m. to noon.
  • Community paper shredding and recycling event takes place at Walter Johnson High School from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Bethesda.
  • Gold’s Gym is hosting a Zumba session at Rockville Town Square at 10:30 a.m.
  • Montgomery County Recreation annual Pooch Pool Party takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wheaton-Glenmont Pool today and tomorrow. Pre-registraion is encouraged.
  • The 55th Annual Greek Festival takes place at the St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral in Silver Spring from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • The InterAct Story Theatre presents The Hero of Everything at the Silver Spring Black Box Theater at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. This is interactive theater for families.
  • The Silver Spring Jazz Festival takes place at Veteran’s Plaza from 3 to 10 p.m. Headlined by Al Chez & The
    Brothers of Funk Big Band.
  • Enjoy local a cappella groups perform at the Gaithersburg City Hall Concert Pavilion at 6 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or blanket for this free, outdoor event.
  • Singer songwriter BettySoo conducts a workshop at 3 p.m. and performs a concert at 7:30 p.m. at Gaithersburg’s Arts Barn. This is the first in this season’s Singer Songwriter Series.
  • Olney Theatre’s production of Hay Fever focuses on the dysfunctional Bliss family with a performance
    tonight at 8 p.m.

  • The Parks Half-Marathon race kicks off at 7 a.m. near the Rockville Metro Station. Registration is closed.
  • The Pawpaw Festival takes place at Meadowside Nature center in Rockville from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Don’t know what a pawpaw is, you are not alone. (It is a native fruit.) Enjoy pawpaw tasting, music, storytelling, crafts, games and more.
  • Sport & Health hosts an outdoor Barre class from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at Pike & Rose Lower Muse Alley.
