MCSL All-Star Relays (PHOTOS)

Four inches of torrential rains into the wee hours of Saturday, July 29th did not dampen nor delay the start to the MCSL All-Star weekend in Rockville.  It started with the All-Star Relays.  As I have done in the past I wait until mid morning for the Section II of the relays to capture the camaraderie of MCSL Divisions H through O.  Division championship trophies are always the highlight of the morning when at a break in the action the top three teams in each division get their award for a summer of excellent team swimming.  Coaches and representatives during this moment feel the relief of a season of joy and possibly look forward to moving up the alphabet division in 2018.

Scott Witkin, President of MCSL performed his last final act of handing out and posing for photos with all the top divisional winners.  But as always the winners are the participants who found time to train hard and swim fast in featured relays.  Today it was not about the best of the best swimmers, that will have to wait until the All-Star individual meets on Sunday.  It was about the top eight relay teams for each type of relay among the 48 teams in Division H through O.

Check out this slideshow below for some of the summer fun displayed at the Rockville Municipal Swim Center.

Here are the top three rankings in the following Divisions – and congratulations to all winners in the A to G Divisions – catch you next year.

Enjoy August everyone – as you all head out to well-deserved vacation times.   Phil Fabrizio
