MCPS Kicks Off School Year; Nearly 160,000 Students Return to In-Person Learning

Monday marked the first day of school for Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS). Nearly 160,000 students returned to classrooms, while about 3,000 remained on the virtual learning platform.

MCPS officials say there are several precautions to ensure the safety of all students and staff amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

At Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, the positive energy for the school year kick-off was contagious, and MyMCM was there to witness it.
