MCPS Closes Due to Weather
Montgomery County Public Schools and all administrative offices are closed today due to emergency weather conditions, according to the MCPS website. All school and community activities in school buildings are canceled.
That decision was posted at 4:25 a.m.
MCPS was one of the last areas schools to make the decision to close today.
When asked by MyMCMedia why the school system made the decision this morning despite a lack of snowfall so far, MCPS Spokesman Dana Tofig said, “The forecast is more certain that we will receive a significant amount of snow.”

The forecast never changed since 10pm. It is ridiculous that MCPS waited until 4:25 to close when every other local school system announced its closure hours earlier based on the same information.
