MCPS Back-To-School Fair Set for Aug. 24

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) will kick off the 2019-2020 school year with a Back-to-School Fair on Aug. 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Westfield Wheaton Mall, 11160 Veirs Mill Road, in Wheaton.

This free event will feature something for everyone — from information and resources for parents, to children’s activities and entertainment for all. Highlights of the day will include student and community performance groups, health screenings, and free immunizations for students in Grades 7-12. MCPS staff members will be available to answer questions and provide information about a variety of topics, including consortia and magnet programs, classroom instruction and much more.

Representatives from community and county organizations also will be present, including the Department of Health and Human Services, Montgomery College, Montgomery County Public Libraries and the Montgomery County Council of PTAs.

Limited parking will be available at Westfield Wheaton. Free round-trip shuttle buses will run throughout the day, starting at 9:30 a.m., between the fair and the following sites:

  • Paint Branch High School
  • John F. Kennedy High School
  • Northwest High School
  • Albert Einstein High School
  • Watkins Mill High School
  • Montgomery Blair High School
  • Carver Educational Services Center, 850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville
