MCPS Announces High School Graduation Dates, Speakers

More than 11,000 Montgomery County Public Schools students will receive high school diplomas in commencement ceremonies this year.

The high school commencement season is set to begin Wednesday, June 2, and will end Thursday, June 17.

Last year, MCPS held virtual graduation ceremonies, but this year each school’s commencement ceremony will be in person and hosted at their respective schools’ sports stadium. Families are allowed two commencement tickets per student.

In total, 25 high schools and 7 programs will have graduation ceremonies this spring. MCPS is inviting families to email graduation photos that may be featured on their website to pio@mcpsmd.org. Photos can also be shared on Twitter using the hashtag #MCPSGrad.

Some of the speakers featured at this year’s commencement ceremonies include comedian Sarah Cooper, U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md. 8), and ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt.
