MCPD Investigating Shooting in Fairland

Montgomery County Police Department Detectives are investigating a shooting that happened in Fairland on Sunday evening.

911 dispatch received several calls for shots fired in the area of the 2000 block of Treetop Lane shortly before 6:30 p.m. When first responders arrived  they located a 28-year-old male on Treetop Lane suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Officials say Columbia Pike at Tech Rd was closed due to the shooting, but has since reopened.

The investigation remains open, and officials say this incident does not appear to be a random act.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the 3rd District Investigative Section at 240-773-6870.  Those who wish to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $10,000 for information provided to them that leads to an arrest and/or an indictment for this crime.  Callers may remain anonymous.
