MCPD Investigating Armed Robbery at Lakeforest Mall
Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Department are investigating an armed robbery at Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg. According to a MCPD press release, the incident happened on July 8 at the Auntie Anne’s pretzel store located inside of the mall shortly after 11:00 a.m.
After further investigation, detectives determined that the suspect approached an Auntie Anne’s employee who was working behind the counter and displayed a handgun while demanding cash from the register. The suspect then fled from the mall with the money and was last seen on foot walking towards Lost Knife Circle. No injuries were reported.
Detectives have released surveillance video of the male suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.
MCPD says anyone with information regarding this armed robbery or the suspect is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5100. Callers may remain anonymous.
