Maryland Health Care System Ranks 12th in the Nation

Maryland ranked 12th in a survey that looked at the cost and service quality of health care in each state. Only 11 other states fared better than the Free State.

The study was completed by WalletHub, which offers credit scores and credit monitoring.

To develop Maryland’s ranking, WalletHub found that the state was the fourth least expensive. It also ranked Maryland 21st in access and 23rd in outcomes. Each of the three scores combined to give the state its 12th ranking overall.

The states that ranked higher than Maryland include Minnesota, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, District of Columbia, Vermont, New Hampshire, Hawaii, Maine, North Dakota, Iowa, and Colorado.
