Maryland Comptroller Awards Gaithersburg Woman for Volunteer Work

Gaithersburg HELP is a faith collaborative that assists area residents in need of essentials such as food, clothing, medicine and transportation. Janet Nuemann became a volunteer for the cause more than 10 years ago, and people say she’s gone above and beyond for the organization ever since.

To honor all her effort, Comptroller Peter Franchot presented Neumann with the William Donald Schaefer Helping People award for Montgomery County. The award is given annually by the Comptroller to individuals and organizations in each county and Baltimore City who best exemplify William Donald Schaefer’s lifelong commitment to helping people.
