March on Washington: Smith Says Economic Equality Needed (Video)

The commemoration of the 50th anniversary for the March on Washington starts on August 24.

As thousands of people get ready to partake in this historic day in the nation’s capital, Montgomery County leadership reflects on this milestone.

Takoma Park Councilmember Jarrett Smith (D-Ward 5) sat down with MyMCMedia’s Tamika Smith to share his perspective on this historic moment.

The March on Washington culminates with President Barack Obama speaking to the nation on August 28 from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.  The same steps Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his “I Have A Dream” speech in 1963.
