Montgomery County police found an injured man Sunday in the middle of Huggins Drive in Wheaton. After he was taken to a hospital, he died of his injuries, a police statement said.

Wheaton police district officers as well as fire and rescue personnel found the man about 10 p.m. Sunday, June 10, in the 11800 block of Huggins Drive for the report of a person in the road.

Because it is unclear how the man suffered his injuries, Major Crimes and Collision Reconstruction Unit detectives are conducting a joint investigation, police said.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the manner and cause of the male’s death.  His identity will be released once it is confirmed, police said.

Anyone with information about the man is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5700.
