Lightning Strike Ignites House Fire in Damascus (PHOTOS)
A lightning strike ignited a house fire in the 24700 block of Kings Valley Road in Damascus late Thursday afternoon, according to a county fire official.
Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer said over 65 firefighters responded to the house fire, which began in the attic of the house.
According to Piringer, two adults and two pets have been displaced by the blaze. He said damage is estimated at $250,000.
One firefighter was injured at this scene. The firefighter experienced heat exhaustion, Piringer said.
