Leggett to Honor Small Businesses at Awards Ceremony

Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett, County Council President Craig Rice, Montgomery County Department of Economic Development Director Steve Silverman and U.S. Small Business Administration District Director, Washington Metropolitan Area, Antonio Doss will give welcoming remarks to kick-off the annual awards ceremony on May 9.

The second annual event will feature award presentations in 11 categories including Bioscience Company of the Year, Start-Up Business of the Year, Veteran-Owned Business of the Year, Workforce Development Company of the Year and a new award category for Non-Profit Company of the Year.

The event kicks off at 10:30 a.m. with registration, a business expo and networking.  The award presentations begin at 1 p.m., following a luncheon keynote presentation by Karen Zuckerman, chief creative director and president, HZDG, a full service integrated marketing communications agency located in Rockville.
