Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett (D) is set to attend the Silver Spring Citizens Advisory Board meeting tonight (July 8).
Residents who live in the various areas of Silver Spring are represented on the board. The perimeters of the region is defined on the board’s website as,”Rock Creek Park [and] the Prince George’s County line, the area south of [the beltway] to the District of Columbia, including all of the City of Takoma Park, [and] all of Four Corners, including the Four Corners neighborhoods north of [the beltway].
The Silver Spring Advisory Board Chairman Evan Glass says the meeting, on July 8 at the Silver Spring Civic Center, begins at 7 p.m. It is also a meeting the community should attend because it serves as an annual briefing, he added.
Some of the top issues to be discussed by the board include:
- The Paul S. Sarbanes Silver Spring Transit Center
- Transportation issues to include the Purple Line
- Affordable housing
Leggett is also expected to attend the Upcounty Citizens Advisory Board-Planning Retreat and the Water Quality Advisory Group.
