Keeping Up With Katie: All’s Well That Ends Well at World Championships
Katie Ledecky came to the FINA world championships in Gwanghwamun, South Korea with her sights set on winning five gold medals. Things did not go quite as planned. She won two silvers heading into her last event – the 800 meter freestyle – and had spent more time in a local hospital than in the pool.
Ledecky recovered from a bout of dehydration to win a gold medal in the 800m freestyle Saturday ending a tumultuous week on a high note.
I came to Gwangju to learn, but I didn’t expect to learn about South Korean hospitals! This meet has taught me so much. I’m looking forward to getting healthy and taking on 2020! #FINAGwangju2019 📸: @Mike2Swim/@USASwimming pic.twitter.com/iH7NZEWN3B

Here’s our final story Katie Ledecky‘s 800 freestyle win today at FINA world championships. It wasn’t a world record or even one of her best times, but her 15th world title was certainly a race that she will never forget https://t.co/5lMotuex3q
