January 8: “Fried Green Tomatoes” movie at Margaret Schweinhaut Senior Center

January 13: Dollar Tree Trip with Margaret Schweinhaut Senior Center

January 12: Cornhole League at Marilyn J. Praisner Community Recreation Center
6:00 p.m. – 8:45 p.m. $45 per person to play, team shirts are included, register under course # 11873. Get your friends together for the hottest game in town. We are hosting a six-week Cornhole League. There is a minimum of three players and a maximum of six players per team. Must be 18 or older and out of high school to participate. January 12: Take the “Emergency” Out of Emergency Preparedness at Holiday Park Senior Center

January 18: Third Annual Wounded Warrior Zumba-thon at Damascus Senior Center
10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Suggested donation of $20, or whatever you can afford to give to the veterans. This event is to honor our Wounded Veterans with a Zumba-thon and raise money for them. Call 240.777.6995 for more information.

January 20: 100 Mile Challenge Kick Off Event at Holiday Park Senior Center
7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Learn how to get your 100 miles in 100 days and hear Everest Mountaineers Nicky and Bob Lowry speak on how to get “Moving More” in order to stand on the top of the world. Get a free fitness band to wear for 100 days, pick up tracking logs, and t-shirts. There will be personalized body composition measurement and get started moving with fun activities. January 21: Amish Market Trip with Margaret Schweinhaut Senior Center

January 21: Move More Montgomery 100 Miles Challenge starts
Start the year off with a healthy challenge for you, your family, and bring the dog! Are you ready to get up and move? Do you want to win prizes? Walk, jog, run a mile a day for 100 days or participate in 20 minutes of continuous physical activity. It all counts as one mile! Get creative and remember, it’s all about having fun while making a lifestyle change. Fess $15 per individual – $5 seniors (over 55) – $5 to register a dog (includes doggie bandana) – $10 for a t-shirt.
January 22: Movie Night Hype at Gwendolyn E. Coffield Community Recreation Center

January 28: Chinese New Year Celebration at Margaret Schweinhaut Senior Center

January 30: Superbowl “L” Dance at Holiday Park Senior Center
7 p.m. – 10 p.m. $8 pre-register, $10:00 at the door. For ages 16 and older with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, vision and/or hearing impairments.
