Ingleside Residents Attend Backpack Journalists Screening Party at MCM (PHOTOS)

bpj9UPDATED There was a great turnout for the spring break Backpack Journalism screening party at Montgomery Community Media (MCM) on April 10.

For one week, the seven teens in the Backpack Journalism program learned about story composition, shooting and editing.

As part of the spring break project, the young journalists interviewed seniors at Ingleside at King Farm, a senior living community in Rockville, and their final reports will soon air on Access 19 and Montgomery Channel 21.

“It was a huge success,” said Mandi Wyndham, MCM’s training and volunteer services coordinator, when asked about the week-long class.

Many of the seniors who were interviewed traveled to MCM to attend the April 10th screening party, and Wyndham said another screening party will be soon held at Ingleside as well.
