How Sweet It Is – As Maryland Women Advance in the NCAAs

March 23, – College Park, MD: The Maryland Terrapin women defeated the previously unbeaten Princeton Tiger’s 85 to 70 to advance to the next round of NCAA basketball in Spokane, WA.

In front of a partisan hometown crowd Maryland hung tough in the first half to go into the locker room with a four point lead at 42-38. Once the Terps left the locker room for the second half floor the storybook season for Princeton came to an abrupt end.

Maryland streaked on a 15-2 run to open the second half and at the first under 15 minute break Maryland lead 57 to 40. Princeton would challenge twice bringing the game within 10 points but never threatened as Maryland’s savvy coach Brenda Frese got the Terps playing level headed to advance to the Sweet 16 round and an eventual date with the Duke Blue Devils.
