House Fire in Chevy Chase

UPDATED The fire is out but Montgomery County firefighters remain on the scene at 3101 Cummings Lane in Chevy Chase for overhaul.

Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer reports the fire began in the basement of the house and extended to the first floor. He said all the occupants were out of the structure and there were no injuries.

So far, no word on the cause of the blaze or the estimated cost of damage.

Western Avenue was closed for a while during the fire department’s response to the blaze.
