MCM Named NATOA Award-Winning Finalist in Two Categories

MCM_CMYK_TAG_BLACK_w_websiteUPDATED Montgomery Community Media (MCM) has learned it is a 2014 national finalist in two, National Association of Telecommunication Officers and Advisors (NATOA) government programming award categories.

The categories are for the “Use of Social Media” for MyMCMedia.org and “Event/Program Promotion (Operating Budget over $300,000)” for the My Favorite Teacher spot.

“I’m proud of our award-winning team at MCM, who year after year continue to improve our services to Montgomery County,” said Merlyn Reineke, MCM’s executive director. “And it’s so gratifying to be recognized by our peers across the country for our innovative on-air and online content with these top national awards.”

Other local winners include Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) with three awards.

The cities of Gaithersburg and Rockville, and Montgomery County, Montgomery County Public Schools and Montgomery College Television are all listed as NATOA “honorable mention winners.”

All of the winners will be announced at the 29th Annual Government Programming Awards Banquet on October 2nd in St. Paul, Minnesota.
