Historian and author James Johnston was the speaker for the Jan. 13 Tuesday Topics presentation at the Gaithersburg Community Museum. His topic “Differing Historical Perspectives on Slavery in Maryland and the District of Columbia” explores slavery in Montgomery County prior to the Civil War. Meet Johnston in this short video:
