High School Winners Announced in Johns Hopkins University’s Art Competition

1st Place: Renewal by Karis Lee of Einstein Visual Arts Center.

For the last 12 years, Johns Hopkins University Montgomery County Campus has held an art competition designed to get children excited about Science Technology Engineering Art and Mathematics (STEAM) education.

Students from 17 Montgomery County public high schools submitted work for the 2018 high school art show and 51 pieces were selected.

The theme of this year’s show was “transitions” and the winners are:

1st Place: Renewal by Karis Lee of Einstein Visual Arts Center.
2nd Place: Beneath the Brave by Amanda Fischer of Quince Orchard High School.
3rd Place: Goodnight Fall by Sadie McBride of Quince Orchard High School.

The student’s work will be on exhibit at the Johns Hopkins University Montgomery County Campus, located at located at 9605 Medical Center Drive in Rockville through Mar. 16. Admission is free and open to the public.
