Great Seneca Supremacy (PHOTOS)

Ok, it boils down to this – Northwest travels down Route 119 to Quince Orchard’s Cougar Dome Friday night for the next edition of the Battle for Great Seneca Supremacy.

Neither team, in my humble opinion, is the best in MoCo. That status currently belongs to the resident school on Ridge Road, Damascus. But because of state classifications NW and QO belong to 4A and Damascus to 3A. The last time QO lost in the Cougar Dome was to Damascus earlier this year – their only blemish in 2014. Last year, they lost twice to Northwest.

Friday Night football at its MoCo best happens at the Cougar Dome a short drive off of Route 119, The Great Seneca Highway. Northwest, the reigning state champion is primed for a payback for their only blemish – a home lost to QO three weeks ago.

So there you have it, it is for Supremacy in the 4A West Region and over the Great Seneca area.

How did we get here in this playoff? Well, this past week Northwest beat Blair 38-3 and QO survived a spirited Clarksburg 4^th quarter to hold on and win 21-14.

Moving forward for mymcmedia.org followers, I didn’t forget the Star Light nominations from the QO vs Clarksburg match.

The Nov. 14 final score:  Quince Orchard 21, Clarksburg 14

Nicci gets the nod for his 4^th quarter leadership performance that brought Clarksburg into the opposing Red Zone on three different occasions for a possible win or tie – only to be foiled by key defensive plays by QO’s secondary.

QO’s defensive players stepped up three times in the last five minutes during challenging situations. Each time Clarksburg offense was within the 9-yard line having multiple opportunities to score but was stopped.
